Brainlab is currently recruiting a Support Specialist to serve our Radiotherapy customers in Atlanta, GA.

Brainlab’s Support Specialist position is a field based role, responsible for the technical analysis, custom installation and support of Brainlab platforms, including Brainlab’s ExacTrac Platform, Elements and Server Solutions, and Loop-X, a Mobile Robotic Imaging Device. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform custom installations and corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure the successful installation and servicing of Brainlab products.
  • Resolve product issues through independent detailed analysis and utilization of engineering expertise.
  • Deliver and facilitate training to a variety of end users, including but not limited to, Physicians, Physicists, Therapists, X-Ray Techs, Biomeds, IT Personnel, and Department Managers.
  • Instruct end users on calibration checks, surveys, and maintenance of Brainlab equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to understand complex problems and adequately troubleshoot issues.
  • Apply customer management skills and expertise to manage and resolve customer needs.
  • Read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Keep abreast of new industry developments through independent research.
  • Identify and communicate trends based on end user experiences and product usage to contribute to continuous improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by management.
  • Successfully complete company and product trainings as needed to maintain required certifications.
  • Prepare service documentation to meet Company requirements and support regulatory compliance.

 

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or IT Technology required. Computer expertise, familiarity, and demonstrated expertise with hardware troubleshooting.
  • Self-starter who is self-motivated, takes initiative and has the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional and confident demeanor.
  • Able to apply critical thinking and perform analysis to technically diagnose medical equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of test equipment and hand tools including oscilloscopes, multi-meters.
  • High comfort level with software and technology in general.
  • Work safely in confined areas, including high current/ high voltages modulators (20- 50 kV, 1500A), and use peripheral vision to gauge distances.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders.
  • Ability to travel 75%.  Ability to Work Nights and Weekends as needed.
